New proprietors are stepping in to take charge of Bonita Bill's restaurant after its recent shutdown.

New proprietors are poised to assume control of a long-standing restaurant in Fort Myers Beach that has recently shut down. HM Restaurant Group has acquired Bonita Bill's, soon to be Bonita Fish Co. The restaurant group also owns and operates Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille and Dixie Fish Company.Bonita Bill's officially shut down on Sunday, following its closure announcement made in December. This beloved restaurant had been a cornerstone of Fort Myers Beach since the 1920s. HM Restaurant Group has announced that Bonita Fish Co. will pay tribute to Bonita Bill's while enhancing the experience at nearby Dixie Fish Co. with a menu inspired by coastal flavors and featuring local seafood. Renovations are scheduled to start right away. The restaurant will temporarily shut down and is expected to relaunch as Bonita Fish Co. in the middle of 2025.
