It's the end of the road for two major Bachelor stars, Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell.

The couple announced their split after four years together in a heartfelt social media post that has left fans heartbroken. Matt, the 33-year-old former Bachelor star, took to Instagram on Thursday to share his sorrow. He wrote: "Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts."

He persisted with an appeal for harmony and compassion: "Grant us a serenity regarding this choice to conclude our relationship that goes beyond human comprehension." His words concluded on an optimistic tone as he wrote: "Bestow kindness and love upon our friends and family to soothe our hearts. And help us remember that our true Joy is derived from you, Lord."

In a recent post, Matt shared a nostalgic photo of himself with Rachel, 28, taken during their initial encounter on The Bachelor in 2021. He tagged his former girlfriend in the post but turned off comments. His latest Instagram Stories showcased several pizza pies, with his location tagged as being abroad in London. So far, Rachel has not made any public statements regarding their breakup on her own Instagram profile.
