The U.S. Department of Energy has once again published intriguing statistics regarding electric vehicles. Their most recent update focuses on the median range of electric cars over the years. Specifically, the DoE has analyzed the median range of EVs from Model Year 2011 to Model Year 2024, revealing a significant enhancement in the median range of electric vehicles throughout this period.
The DoE report indicates that "the median range of all-electric vehicles (EVs) for model year (MY) 2024 has achieved an unprecedented 283 miles per charge." This marks an increase of 13 miles compared to the 2023 Model Year EVs, which might not appear to be a significant enhancement at first glance. Nevertheless, when we look back further in time, the substantial advancements in EV range become strikingly clear.
