The tow truck operator identified the vehicle, having previously towed it for the same issue just a month earlier.
As Tow Truck Dustin pointed out several times on his adventures from behind the wheel of his tow truck, General Motors is on his list of most frequent tows from a single manufacturer. He explains that GM brands suffer from faulty fuel system modules, which makes it so a driver can crank the engine, but it won’t start due to lack of fuel.
According to Dustin, many vehicles can’t be put into neutral due to the presence of an electronic shifter, which means he has to tow customer cars onto the rear of his truck.
In a recent video (@TowTruck_Dustin), a customer with a 2023 Cadillac XT4 had his fuel pump module fail on him after having driven only 3.5 miles from the dealership. Dustin recognized the XT4 from a tow job he’d done for the customer a month before.
“This is actually the second time I’ve had to tow this specific Cadillac,” Dustin remarked. “I towed it nearly a month ago to the day… It’s experiencing the same crank but no start problem. This marks the second breakdown it’s had within a month due to the same component.”
The owner mentioned that he won't purchase another Cadillac again.
The initial failure of the fuel pump module occurred at the owner's apartment, but the subsequent breakdown happened during his workout session. Unab
