The CEO of Hershey Company has declared plans to retire.

The Hershey Company is set to see a leadership change as its chief executive officer, Michele Buck, announces her retirement. Buck, who made history as the first female CEO of Hershey, has been in her role since March 2017, with her retirement taking effect on June 30. Until a successor is appointed, she will continue to fulfill her duties, after which she intends to step down from the board of directors and take on a senior advisor position until her retirement. "Leading Hershey has been the highlight of my professional journey, as it is a truly unique organization. Our team has built one of the most robust and well-known snack portfolios in the market, and I take great pride in our achievements," Buck expressed in a press statement. "As I mark my 20th year at Hershey, I feel this is the appropriate moment to initiate our succession planning and start the handover to the next leader of Hershey."
